Description
Clackamas Community College (CCC) seeks to hire a
Medical Assistant Instructor
position. This is a part-time, faculty, union, exempt, and non benefits-eligible position. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Location: Harmony Campus Medical Assistant Skills Lab
- Schedule: Tuesday/Thursdays from 8:30am-4:00pm (Winter and Spring terms)
- Faculty must maintain required licensure/certification
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsibilities of the Part-Time Faculty include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure students develop requisite entry-level knowledge, skills, and competencies to sit for certification or licensure and work in the field utilizing current techniques and equipment:
- Employ strong classroom management skills, including independent judgement, subject matter expertise, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of teaching theory and methodologies;
- Theory instruction of clinical skill, practice, and pharmacology (cognitive focus);
- Exam room and laboratory instruction, including phlebotomy and intravenous administration (psychomotor/affective focus);
- Limited instruction of administrative skills;
- Advise, assist, and tutor students, and connect them with available resources to support their learning;
- Effectively communicate with faculty, staff, students, and community partners;
- Program and student learning outcomes assessment;
- Support the program's values of inclusivity, collaboration, peer support, self-care, and student-centered instruction and support by attending department meetings, training and engaging in professional development.
- Support the college's mission, vision, and values, through participation in and advancement of institutional initiatives.
Qualifications
MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree or willing to work towards degree completion within two years of hire
- Two (2) years professional experience as a medical assistant
- Be credentialed in good standing as either CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NCCT),
or
NCMA (NHA)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Four years professional experience as a medical assistant
- Associates degree or higher
- Familiarity with or past instructional experience in community colleges
- Bilingual Spanish

Terms of Employment
- All positions at CCC are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college and requires a flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends.

- CCC employees must reside within 50 miles of Oregon City, Harmony or Wilsonville campus as a condition of employment.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States must be provided if selected for hire.
